I get that sick feeling, when I see you. (Nothing against you, I love you) It’s the feeling of loss. You aren’t mine anymore; I can’t run up and embrace you. You are hers to hold now. Now she can lay breathless in your arms. As long as you two are happy, so am I.
I get that sick feeling, when you speak to me. (Nothing against you, I love you). I can’t hang onto every little word you say now. Or the way you obtain an accent when you say certain words, or the way your voice deepens when you get serious. You can speak to her now, maybe she’ll notice your way of blending some words together. As long as you two are happy, I can be.
I get that sick feeling, when you smile. (Nothing against you, I love you). It’s the feeling of regret. I used to make you smile like that. Now you’re smiling for her, and I can’t make you happy anymore. You know, your face glows when you laugh. Make her feel like the most important girl in the world, like you made me feel.I can try and be happy for you, as long as she makes you smile, I can be happy too.
I get that sick feeling, when you look me in the eyes. (Nothing against you, I love you). It’s the feeling of betrayal. I hate all the emotions that you create in me. I don’t like feeling this way, like I’m so full of feelings that I’m about to burst at the seams and drown you in it. You can look her in the eyes now. I can try and be happy for you two, just, please don’t gaze into her eyes the same way. As long as she makes you happy, I can try to be happy too.
I get that sick feeling, when you say you love me(Nothing against you, I do indeed love you). It’s the feeling that I’m being lied too. If you still loved me why would you do this? True love is giving someone all of you and hoping that they won’t destroy it. I trusted you, and you destroyed me. Now I’m left with holes and tears that won’t ever mend. You can tell her those words now, the three words that can tear some one apart. As long as she makes you happy, I can pretend to be.
