yeah, so i know it's been like.. 80 millenia since I've updated this thing. I've just been hella busy since I've moved back into school, and I just haven't had the time (hella busy... who says that anyways??? apparently, me...)
But, tonight, I finally have time to update this thing, because I decided I'm going to just chill in my room and take the night off from doing stuff... cuz I'm always wayyy too busy.
So, here's a brief synopsis of my semester thus far:
first off, i started this semester.... right after coming back San Antonio :) San Antonio was awesome. It was warm enough to swim in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool... so I can't complain about the weather there. And, I got to hang out with all of the people I worked with over the summer (with the exception of 2 people, who couldn't come). It was great to see them again... it's just amazing how my entire REU got along so well last summer...
As far as classes go for this semester... things have been quite intense. I'm taking 12 credits worth of 4000 level math classes, which keeps me more than busy (especially math analysis, which has provided me with endless hours of fun so far this semester). Also, I'm doing an independent study with my writing prof. from last semester. That's not so bad though... it's only 2 credits, so it's not a ton of work.
Also, I'm finally 21!!! (as of Feb. 2nd) So... happy late birthday to meeeee (and to Adam too!)
I got my first (legal) drink at the pub in the union :) .... right before ballroom lessons (oops.. the president of the ballroom club came to the first week of lessons for the semester a lil intoxicated... but it's not my fault I have a birthday...)
And, I went to the Ruck that night (it's a bar in downtown Troy... just a little fyi for all you non-RPI people)
Then.. that weekend... I celebrated my birthday in what is possibly the best place on this planet.
That's right... NEBRASKA :)
University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) was having a math conference that weekend, so I got funding from both UNL and RPI to go out there and present my research... which also meant I got to spend time with 2 of my friends from the summer, Aly (from Kansas) and Derek (from Nebraska)
They took me out to Main St. (it's a bar in Lincoln that everyone used to go to over the summer... but I couldn't ever go because I was too young) and then to this place called Zen's Martini Bar... where we just pretty much sat around and talked and they bought me drinks. It was such a good time. :)
man... 21... I feel so old...
