Waiting
Nothing sucks worse when you know let go of a fireball, when you shoot an arrow, fire a gun or say something intense to someone and all you can do, sometimes it's in seconds, days or hours, and just wait to know the results. Did you save them? Did you kill them? Or wound them? Will they ever talk with you again? Will this be the cathartic moment they needed to break through? Or did you smother the worm while it was trying to change into a butterfly by cutting the cocoon? Or maybe you are hallucinating the intensty or their reaction and have been just overreacting yourself the whole time and nothing has changed? Are you standing on the street corner shouting about the impending doom of the world around you only to realize it's all in your head?
