[A couple of weeks ago, Rose sent out invitations inviting people to Christmas at the flat she shares with the Doctors. Since then, she's been running around like a headless chicken for many reasons, the party only being one

[ Amy and Rory have claimed the over sized chair, with Amy settled on Rory's lap. She wanted to be fashionably late for this party, but Rory said to be punctual and here they are.
They'll mingle, later on, but for now, sitting there with a glass of wine is enough. ]
[ Considering where she is and how hesitant she was about going, Amy is pretty relaxed. She's here now, after all, might as well make the best of it. ] Yeah. 's nice, with the decorations and all.
[ Gesturing at the Christmas tree in particular with a grin. ]
[It's an attempt so Rose will take it in good faith. Besides, it's Christmas and shaping up to be a brilliant one. She's not going to ruin that. Rose glances at the tree and laughs a bit.]
The one in the kitchen helped me decorate it then the one in the Santa suit [She still can't believe she convinced him to put on the Santa suit] helped me with the tinsel.
[Which is why the tree looks like it threw up Christmas. It's fantastic.]
Amy! Rory! And you've already got drinks and stuff, brilliant. Good to see you both here. Rose, can you come taste something? Just a moment. [Without waiting for an answer, he starts going back to the kitchen.] Nearly done though, honest. Need more to drink this nice man with Donna's scarf about him will help, I think.
[ That is so very much the Doctor, right there, that it makes Amy laugh; in that moment it doesn't matter that he doesn't remember any of what they've been through together, that he doesn't remember being her best friend, because he's the Doctor and always will be and oh, she loves him. ]
Yeah, we're good. [ Waving him (and Rose) off to do their thing. ]
Be right back. [That's directed toward Amy and Rory before Rose ducks out of the living room and into the kitchen with the Doctor. She's momentarily worried that Donna is accosting Cinna and 'nice man with Donna's scar' was code for 'we need to launch Operation Save Cinna'.]
Somethin' wrong? Or am I really gettin' to taste? Cinna doesn't need savin' this early on does he?
[ooc: I still can't figure out what that sentence means specifically, but I do remember the gist of what I meant to have him say.]
What? I hope not. It'll be a long evening for him if he does, although I've already done a little interference on his behalf. No, I need you to come tell me if this actually tastes the way it's supposed to. I'm not going to tell you how it's supposed to taste first though because that'll implant influence beforehand, but it's supposed to be on the savoury side at least.
[ooc: That's all that counts. We went with it, sort of worked anyway.]
Fairly sure she's behavin' so far. [Ooooh tasting.] M'good at tastin'. [She takes the spoon or what have you out of the pot and blows across it before she tastes it tentatively. Her eyes widen and her expression says 'it's good' before she confirms it.] Mmmmm s'good. M'not sure what it s'posed to taste like but it's good.
Yeah? Good! I added something that was supposed to go in something else and couldn't taste it anymore. Actually I ought to figure out how that happened, but later. For now - [He's moving that pot off to the side now and covering it up.] - I'm going to leave that alone so I don't have to call you back in here.
Don't mind. It's what you got me as an assistant for. [She sits up on a counter out of the way to watch him cook a bit. It still fascinates her for some reason.]
[He's got his sleeves rolled up and jacket and tie off - the latter after accidentally getting it in something and then wiping it off and not twenty seconds later getting it in something else - and is doing fairly normal type cooking things. Right now he's cutting things up on one part of the counter, separating them, checking two pots still cooking, and then going back to the cutting. He glances over at her when he sees that she hasn't left.] Didn't know you had an interest in cooking.
[It's a good look for him and she's amused by it. She drums her heels lightly against the counter.] More an interest in watchin' you. [Cooking. Or doing anything really. She's utterly ridiculous.]
[Well that doesn't make him all shades of smug at all. He's totally going to show off as much as he can without dropping things.] Well I'm very watchable. Foxy and all. [Eyebrow waggling.]
[For her part she's going to encourage him by doing that little tip of the tongue between her teeth grin and oohing and ahhing at appropriate moments.] Awfully foxy. Jamie Oliver's got nothin' on you.
[Yes, that's very encouraging.] 'Course he hasn't. He's not nearly as good looking and doesn't have the benefit of knowing about Gerdinian cooking techniques. Granted there's some adaptation what with not having the same basic ingredients, but still.
[ooc: I cannot tell you how much I laughed at the Jamie Oliver thing last night.]
They'll mingle, later on, but for now, sitting there with a glass of wine is enough. ]
