Weekend Recap

Jan 10, 2006 13:20

This past weekend Justin, David and I went to Kansas City and stayed with my cousins Will and Roberta. Friday night we had cajun pot roast and artichoke dip, both of which were delicious even though I was skeptical. Yay for trying new things. After dinner, Roberta needed to find an Osco (same thing as Sav-on) to get some cough medicine, so we all piled in the car for a tour of KC, which turned into a THREE HOUR tour of KC (indeed it's a big city) Stopping at three Oscos along the way because some were closed. We went to a hole-in the wall coffee shop and sang along to the RENT (broadway) sountrack at the top of our lungs. It truly was amazing.
The next day we all slept in until 11:30 when we woke up and sat around talking until Roberta came back from a church budget meeting, then we went to pick up Will at his work where they were all dressed up as Lady Liberty and Uncle Sams to kick of Tax Season. We went to Brokeback Mountan (OMG *tear*) and had starbucks and PIZZA HUT. We shopped in an antique store and basically just relaxed.
Sunday, we went to Roberta's church (David couldn't get over how awesome she is... he was in awe of a woman pastor, haha) and she was the first woman pastor Justin had ever seen. Yay! Justin also said it was the most diverse church he'd ever been to because... there were (gasp) black people there. Hehe!
After church we took off for home but made a pit stop in Lawrence, KS (Where Kansas University is, I might apply there, i love the town) and we shopped! Hooray for shopping! We walked up and down Mass street (The same street where I went to that Jimmy Eat World concert last September.) I bought a cool book on Vintage fashion from Urban Outfitters (clearance) and i bought a manga to give to Yuriko for a late christmas present.
I forgot to take my jeans to American Eagle though, and get the inktag taken off of them. Boo.

Now.... let's make my cough go away! The one I caught from Justin over the weekend. *dies*

How's that for an update Angela? :)
