Employment Reflections

Well, as of last Thursday (the dreaded April 15) my tenure at H&R Block has come to an end. Not only is it clear that no matter how nobly I tried to think of it ("I am assisting those who are qualified so they can focus on helping others get their taxes figured up"), being a receptionist is not a fulfilling job. It paid the bills the past 4 months and will pay for May, but I hope my next job will be more rewarding.

Speaking of other jobs, I went through a 2-part interview process for Admissions Counselor at Central Christian College. I am one of the final four and will find out on Friday (or early next week, he said) whether I am selected for the job or not. Now, its unclear to me whether there are 1 or 2 openings in the department because word on the street is that one of the girls MIGHT be leaving for bigger and better things. So, it can be deducted that I have between a 25% and 50% chance of landing the job.

I want to go on record saying that getting at job in CCC admissions was actually a big part of my McPherson Dream. I will really be disappointed if I don't get it, because I see myself as capable and qualified, however if I don't, I know there will be something else I can do somewhere here in town.
