I think the people downstairs from me moved out and they're renovating the place because there's been a lot of hammering and stuff going on down there. Also, yesterday the whole apartment smelled like varnish. Like, really strong. But I was too lazy to leave because I was watching LOST and feeling lethargic so I opened up all the windows. And then I took a nap.
Is it bad I like the smell of fumes like that? Haha. I guess it bodes well for my future career in fence-staining.

I just got a call from my airlines telling me that my KS trip plans have changed. Instead of flying out from Wichita at 7:30 on Sunday I'll be flying out at 4:30. Way to steal three of my hours in Kansas, United :(
Speaking of Kansas, I'm going to Kansas City (MO) at the end of March to check out a school there. I think it'll be interesting and I'm looking forward to sitting in on a few classes. Also, after hearing about my trip Doug's talked about coming up to KC on Monday night so we could go out to dinner. I'm excited but not banking on it because plans like these have a way of falling through on me.

HUNGRY! I am hungry, but I'm supposed to be picking up Kaz from somewhere and I know the second I start cooking something for myself he's going to call. This is how things always happen for me. Maybe do something portable like cut up an orange?

Lastly, last night was SCAD (So Cal Activity Days) at First Church at PLNU, and I volunteered for a few hours. The first hour sucked because my own kids (Temecula) were kind of blowing me off. I was supposed to be monitoring the patio, and my co-monitor never showed up so I had nobody to talk to. I tried chewing the fat with some of First Church's volunteers but I was met with the classic Point Loma attitude of "why are you even talking to me?" That has plagued me since I was a youth myself. Hello!! I am your peer! I go to school with you!!
Anyway, I finally decided, "this is stupid" and abandoned my post as patio monitor because there were plenty of other adults out there. I'm doubtful the other adults even realized that I wasn't a teen. I found the girls from the Temecula group, who were singing karaoke, and then we began to have some fun.... we did a human knot with some girls from another youth group (very cool).
After my "shift" was over I stuck around and talked for like an hour with Amy and Katie, two of my favorites from when I worked there two summers ago. We had a quite good conversation and I left finally feeling like my time spent was worth it. The first hour was dang frustrating though.
