Spring Break, Mac Town!

I was sitting here thinking, I should update my LJ... but what is there to update? And then I smacked myself on the forehead and said, duh, you just got back from your Kansas trip!

My trip was amazing. It was so good to go back and see [most of] my old friends... some people who had graduated last may or transferred out (such as myself) weren't around but Justin David and Doug were, my three favorite boys, and I even got to grow closer to people I'd either not had a stellar start with or just hadn't gotten to know as well, (Liz, Shaun, Noni). Noni let me room with her for five nights which was super nice of her especially considering that she wasn't there Friday or Saturday night... so trusting to leave her door unlocked for me.
Friday night I was picked up by Justin and Doug in Wichita (smallest airport I have ever been in). Later Justin, David, Liz, Nic, Doug and I went to Common Ground in Hutchinson, where we played pool (I did better than I thought I would and learned that Justin is actually quite good) and Scrabble (Doug and I were beat rather pathetically and Justin and David launched themselves into second place by playing a 55-point word, "zips").
Saturday... I can't really remember what we did on Saturday. I think that was the day that we went to lakeside park and I climbed a tree and we played a really cool game where we had sensors strapped to our hands and we had to toss the ball to different people identified by color. It was kind of like hot-potato crossed with Bop-it!   Later that night, Doug and I had planned on going to the gas station and getting some sunflower seeds but it turned into a big group of like six of us. It was fun. Again, I was the only girl... Evidently KS is a state of much-better-odds-for-Staci. That night the cold front came in (we could definitely feel it coming in as the temperature dropped dramatically).
Sunday I went with Justin to his home church in Ellsworth to see his family! The Powers family has always been so warm and welcoming every time I see them. Lamps of Fire (A CCC traveling praise team group) happened to be singing at the Ellsworth church that day so I got to hear them as well--they were really good, and David had a solo, a fact which I'm sure he hates. Later that day we drove through a thunderstorm getting back to McPherson and were stuck inside the rest of the afternoon. That night it SNOWED as we were walking outside and I was super excited to see it. It was too warm for it to stick but I was glad to see it coming down.
Monday I went to British Novels class with Justin--that was fun. Later I went to class with Doug because the professor was the same one I'd had last year for my political science classes. Class and lunch were exactly how I remembered them. Not so good.
Tuesday was when I realized I had caught Doug's cold so I slept in until 10 when he and I went to get breakfast. Later I met Ms A for lunch at our favorite Mediterranean restaurant (okay the only Mediterranean restaurant in Mac Town) and then I walked around downtown for a bit. I went to all my favorite places--Fruits of the Spirit, the Christian bookstore, The Hearth Room, and then Shaun and I went to the Muffin Factory, which is going out of business... changes make me sad especially when I'm not there to see them happen.  That night a huge group of us watched Clueless. (There were almost 15 people watching, predominantly male, which is hilarious to me).
Wednesday was my last day... I went to class with Doug and hung around getting my stuff packed up while he went to tennis practice and everybody else was in class... then they took me to the Wichita airport and I came back home. Sadness.

I'll probably write more reflections on this trip later :)
