y is taking a nap, the house is quiet, the air is sticky and hot on this 4th of july here in the valley, visiting the family. everyone's gone across town to the bbq which we'll be joining a bit later.
i just wanted to take the time to acknowledge here that this is my special day.
5 years ago this morning a miracle happened and its a miracle that's still happening. 5 years of living fully in my skin and loving it. not a single drop of alcohol or mood-altering substance has entered the divine temple that is my body. 5 years ago i awoke in my bed with a knowingness in my heart, and it was graceful unexpected and anticlimactic, really. the most incredible gift from the universe.
i am endlessly grateful, humble, blessed.
