Anonymous comments are enabled here so that your giftee won't know the identify of their Yule Goat oocly until the reveal.
On the winter solstice - December 21, this year - the Yule Goat celebration will be posted in hogwarts_hocus and the characters will ICly exchange their gifts.
OOCly, here is where you post the gifts. Descriptions are good, and links to pages where the item is displayed are okay as well (if it's something that OOCly you could find on amazon.com or what have you).
A couple of caveats re gift selection:
Please remember that all gifts must respect the rule against fourth-wall breakage. If you're going to give a book, it should either be nonfiction, or a fictional work of fiction. (Yes, even classics are protected by the fourth-wall rule. We have had characters from Jane Austen novels, from Shakespeare, from Victor Hugo ... They don't want to know they're fictional, folks!)
Respect the IC/OOC boundary: if your character doesn't know much about the character they've been assigned, they can owl the Sorting Hat to ask about that person, or they can ask around ICly, but they can't read minds, OK?
