Title: [this doesn't have a title as of yet.]
Rating: PG
Warnings: pre-slash, incest.
Summery: Mandy totally knows what's going on between Nick and Joe, even if they don't
A/N: This is for lovejimmywilly . What started out as an innocent conversation about how the ex-girlfriends feel about Joick shipping turned into this. I apologize for any mistakes, tense switching or bad puns. It's two am, and I wrote this in like 20.

When Mandy and Joe first broke up, it wasn’t even that big of a deal. They had been friends for as long as they could remember, and they had their little thing, and then- they didn’t anymore. Mandy was still Joe’s best friend, she was still always around, goofing off with Joe, teasing Nick, spying on Kevin, the same as always. They just weren’t dating anymore. And that was fine.

Mandy knows how to read people. Like, she’s really good at it. One look at a person and she knows immediately if they’re a decent person or not. And it’s always been like that. So Mandy kind of knew that yeah- Joe was an awesome best friend, probably the best she’d ever have, but they weren’t supposed to be like that, not together.

She didn’t know who her soulmate was- they probably hadn’t met yet. But she had a pretty good idea of who Joe’s was.

So one day, a week or so after the easiest break up ever, Mandy is hanging out at the Jonas place, her, Nick and Joe goofing around in the yard. When they get tired, they sit down in the shade, both boys leaning against the brick wall of the house, and Mandy facing them, legs folded up and looking at her friends with a curious smile.

“So, have you boys figured it out yet?” Mandy asks, gesturing between the two of them.

Nick and Joe look at each other, a little confused and answer simultaneously, “Figure what out?”

Mandy smirks. “Are you really that blind to what’s right in front of you?”

Both boys shrug. Mandy rolls her eyes and goes home.

A few months go by. Mandy and they boys spend as much time as they can together. The band is starting to get big and talks of going on tour are starting back up again. They probably won’t have much time to hang out, just the three of them, much longer, so they’re doing as much as they can now.

Mandy is watching the boys play 1 on 1 basketball in the driveway, grabbing on to each other, tickling and poking as defense. She closes her eyes, enjoying the end of summer breeze, and when she opens them again, there is a laughing Jonas heap on the asphalt. She walks over to them and crouches down so she’s at eye level with the giggling boys.

“Figured it out yet?” she questions.

“This again?” Joe mumbles.

“We have no idea, Mandy,” Nick says.

“Oh, you will. Someday, you’ll get it, and I’ll be right here to say I told you so.” She shakes her head and offers each boy a hand up.

It’s been about a year since Mandy and Joe decided they should probably just be friends. The boys had just gotten back from their first tour and a lot had changed between them. All the close quarters, sharing hotel rooms, and hugs after awesome performances- if it was possible for Nick and Joe to have gotten any closer, they definitely did.

They haven’t seen Mandy since they left to go on tour. Their parents were out and Kevin had taken Frankie out for the day, leaving Joe and Nick the house to themselves. They decide to invite Mandy over.

While they wait for her to get there, they sit together on the sofa, flipping through the channels. Nick is sort of curled up into Joe, Joe’s arm tucked around Nick. It’s a habit they picked up on tour, when they never had room to spread out. They finally land on some movie that they have seen a hundred times but can’t quite place.

Mandy never knocks. She’s been like, the unofficial Jonas daughter since she could walk, so she just pushes open the screen door and heads right to the living room where she hears the TV on. As she walks in, she just catches what looks like it could be the tail end of a kiss.

She has the absolute smuggest grin on her face. She looks back and forth between her two best friends, eyes shining.

“Oh, so you finally got it? I told you so. Come over when you’re done.” She turns on her heels, blonde hair fanning out behind her.

The boys look at each other in shock.

“I don’t- how did she know?” Nick asks, amused, and a little confused.

Joe looks down at Nick, still curled up next to him and kisses him again. “Mandy always knows.”
