[Private to Jim. 7am]Jim. Did you forget our engagement last night? When I say I wish to meet you, it is not really a matter of choice. If something serious came up, that is fine, but I would like some word on the matter

I was about to say, I certainly didn't get one. It's why I presumed he'd just decided not to show up in a fit of anger and spent the night with you.
It still is, and his door is still as it was, but I'd prefer to be let in than break in. Can you open the door? My first thought is that he's in a coma or hurt himself.
Any thoughts after that get distinctly more serious.

[Caesares catches the puzzled look, and can't resist saying, just for further clarification,] It doesn't do well to assume a spirit is malignant. [Which didn't clarify much, and even to him, sounds weird coming from a doctor.]
What about Arthas, Mozenrath, Shego? They could possibly have some level of motivation - even if their revenge had previously been wreaked, it could be plausible they decided it wasn't enough?
[More plausible than discussing ghosts, which whilst he realised it was a relatively logical thought in this place, he didn't want that to be the answer.]

I think it's best to keep that kind of thing in mind. As it's a real possibility, surely.
[Pause. An exceptionally skeptical pause, as Caesares really quite dislikes the Doctor at the minute, but he manages to cover most of his dislike when he replies,]

He could have got locked in somewhere, I suppose, but he'd have his communicator with him.
Is it there?
[pause]
I'll come to you, don't move.

[Telltale sounds of an old man on the move.]

[Snapped slightly. It's a little out of character for him. And a few minutes later, he's walking into Jim's room.]
Nygma?

I can't think of a reason he'd choose to avoid both of us.
[Apart from, perhaps, one.] Not to this extent. And if he's got his communicator, something must be stopping him answering.

[There are hints of actual frustration from Caesares, which is exceptionally unusual, and he runs his thumb over his knuckles a little.]
How about actual human agents? Who do we know that has a grudge against him, or that might have a better idea where he is?

And how would he go about doing that?
