last saturday, just after the well-attended AMCI photography workshop i organized where we had
outsidebound as lecturer, i took part in the nike+ fun run at the very upscale bonifacio high street. the run was free and we were given free t-shirts where we had to write our power song. this is a feature of the iPod sport (sic) kit where you play a song that should rev your run at the last stretch. since i had no time to think about it (and since more than 10 people had written down "itaktak mo"), i just chose "this is the moment". talk about a power song that slows you down! haha. there were tons of celebs, and had photos with basketball stars, a host of gameplan, and hesitated to approach francis magalona. bonifacio high street is really cool. it has probably one of the coolest fountain sculptures i had ever seen locally. anyway, about the run, i finished the not-exactly-five-kilometer route in 24 minutes 46 seconds, 107th overall out of more than 300 (i really wanted to be in the top 100), and 3 seconds behind tatax, which is weird because we crossed the finish line together, hand in hand! hmph. i have to admit, this had got to be the most painful 5k i'd ever run. the gun was fired just before 5pm, and the sun was like there, staring down at us! we should've have started while the sun was setting! here are photos from kim's camera.
and afterwards, we had dinner at pier one, coffee at bo's (i had a revel bar), and partied with iton at eastwood! he was here just for the weekend. we were really drunk, happy, and i was becoming territorial. haha.
