there are two things which make my recent change in careers less than ideal: riding the MRT during the morning rush and waking up regularly each day before 6.30am. other than that, i really can’t complain: i haven’t been swamped with work yet, so much that there are times i get really bored. it’s only been 8 days and i haven’t quite settled in on the new environment. although i must say that working in fort bonifacio is so much better than on the other side of EDSA. there’s hardly any traffic inside the global city, and the afternoons are usually cool and windy. also, the view of the makati central business district at sunset is nothing short of amazing.
in the last 8 days, i’ve met some of B&M’s top brass: the chair of the EC himself, and a few other people. my workspace, though, will have to be changed soon, since it can be a lot distracting. nonetheless, i can’t say yet that i’ve made the wrong decision. nor will i say that the decision has been for the best. already, i feel the consequences of changing pace. but they are little things which i best ignore.
after my return from pulag, immediately the following day i got shoved into a flurry of activities. we had the AMCI election, which we accomplished virtually glitch-free. the elecom celebrated with pizza.
my return to corporate work also marked my return to the gym. after a 6-month hiatus (owing largely to my BMC training), i resurrected my FF membership, and so far, i’ve only been to the gym twice. now my body is no longer familiar with the rigors of lifting weights, and after my short workout last friday, i still continue to suffer from some major muscle pains.
so what’s my assessment thus far? it’s really too early to draw any such conclusions. i’d rather take it one payday at a time.
