nothing important

my trip to the north had so exhausted me that i spent the entire weekend at home. i was caged, in a way, inside my room, which my mom and the household help cleaned while i was away (i told her that should anything be discovered missing, i’d turn it so upside down, that it would seem nothing had been done to bestow a semblance of order... after only a few days, i’ve made good on my threats, hehe), trying to write something. i had resolved to visit the gym again, because i felt a little out of shape, not having had any serious physical exertion for the entire 5 days that i was away. i changed to leave, and was just about to put on my shoes, when i ended up deciding to just stay transfixed to the small monitor of my laptop.

that same day though, i sent out pictures of my trip to anawangin to my friends over at AMCI, and they were very kind to reply to my email. they apparently want to have more of me, and i understand why. i even crack myself up.

the following monday, i left for work and gave away carabao milk candy to my lolas and titas at the department. my new boss summoned me to his office at least 3 times and gave me three new assignments. i think he’s under the misimpression that i’m good at something. boy, is he in for a huge disappointment! at the gym, i was in no mood to do anything but cardiofunk. kenneth decided to do “move your body”, which, though a bit slower, was no less difficult. it was performance level for me all the way that by the time we were down to our last 2 sets, i had to stop because my tummy was starting to ache. too much exertion, i suppose.

the following day, i still had jazz at makati, where i bumped into eden. i also lent my coleman shoes to jay, whose TNFs are now being worn by a bus conductor in ilocos. while doing our routine, i observed that i have difficulty now memorizing the steps. much like when i was still in law school, i’d read several pages and then realize that i don’t remember a single thing that’s been said. maybe i just have too many things on my mind.

this morning, i went to pasig again for sophie’s hearing. but as fate would have it, this case will have to wait till after holy week before it’s finally closed. a few batchmates were also there, looking like really filthy lawyers.

when my mom heard the news about the mountaineer who died after suffering a bad fall in mt makiling, she turned to me and said, “kaya tigilan mo na yang pag-akyat-akyat.”

“sayang naman ang gamit na binili ko,” i replied.

i just absolutely love my mom.
