Went to see quite a poor production of Medea last night. The best performances were by people who weren't able to follow the director's vision.
In fact, the most interesting (and at the same time, sickening) part of the production was overhearing some Retardlican's conversation in the row behind us before the play started, wherein he was defending Intelligent Design as "unbiased" and railing against the "modern, unbelievably liberal interpretation of the First Amendment." How can ID be unbiased when it specifically states that there must be some exterior force driving the development of species? Evolutionary theory allows that there might be such a force but does not demand that it exist in the way that ID does.
And I'm sure that if I had turned around and told this guy to shut the fuck up he would have claimed that he had the Constitutional right to speak.... even though I'm no representative of the U.S. Government bent on making a law to restrict his expression.
People make my head hurt a lot of the time.
