All hail our insect overlords......

A very buggy day today, for some reason. None of the windows in our offices were open at any time, but:

a very large paper wasp in my assistant's office first thing in the morning, which I squished against the ceiling

a flying ant around lunchtime, crawling on my ear. Very weird feeling

a horde of ladybugs congregating on the windowscreens in the early afternoon. One or two of them managed to get inside; I'm not yet certain how. I actually like ladybugs a lot -- I think they smell nice.
But.... why so many insects all of a sudden?
