I couldn't believe it. I ain't exactly known as the luckiest man in the world, and yet here I was sittin' in the saloon with twenty dollars in my hand. How I came by that twenty dollars, well.. that's a story for some other time.

And if you don't mention nothin' about any ring, no bodies will be askin' who it's for, now will they?

Besides, I don't think I'll be givin it to her any time soon anyway...

I KNOW it ain't ever gonna happen, either. I know it, but I bought it anyway. You never REALLY know, right? I mean, the way he treats her sometimes... it ain't right. And... *takes a deep breath*

Ya see why I didn't say nothin'? Kid is my friend. I already feel like a horse's ass for even thinkin' about her like that. But I can't help it. You understand, right? I mean, women.. they just got a way about 'em ya know? And she's... different.

Jimmy...there's a big difference between thinking about her that way and buying a ring.

What if she finds it? What if Rachel finds it?

*sighs* I know, I know. It ain't just the thinkin', Buck. She... I... somethin's changed. When we were takin' Elias to hang... I did somethin' stupid. Buck, I'm seven kinds 'a fool, but I couldn't stop myself. She's so damn aggravatin' and sweet at the same time, and I kissed her. And before that, in Willow Springs... we danced. *pause*

Not 'DANCED'. *shakes his head* But really just dancin'. In the middle of the street, like neither of us had a care in the world.

*drops head* I don't know what I'd do if she found it. If either of 'em did. That's why I keep it on me. I ain't about ta lose it.

ooc: Oh yeah, Jimmy's all late second season/early third at the moment. I just started him canon from right after the whole kiss debacle with Lou. And you do a wonderful job with him. Buck generally doesn't have a lot to say, but when he does, he's passionate about what he says and it was always meaningful. Watching the DVD's does help, believe me. I've always had Jimmy in my head, I think, since the show began, but watching made it a lot ( ... )

ooc: *g* I'm trying to remember my 2nd and 3rd season canon! lol. It's been WAY too long, though I got the S1 DVDs as soon as they came out. It was my first fandom every. I had pictures on my wall and everything. *laughs* But yes, I've put him in libraryofwinds--I just need to make him talk to me more. lol

Well, she didn't slap the hell outta me. We didn't really get a chance to... I mean, Elias escaped, so...

*frustrated sigh* And nothin' happened after. I told her ta just forget it. I mean, she's in love with my best friend, Buck. I already felt like the worst kinda person. But I just keep thinkin' maybe she'll come to her senses about the Kid, ya know? I mean, he trots that schoolteacher around her like she's some prize pony and then won't take no for an answer when he asks Lou ta marry him. Twice! And he treats her like she should act different now that we all know she's a girl. It hurts her, and she comes cryin' ta me.

OOC: There are still a bunch of sites up for the show, and generally I can find bits of canon all over them. Honestly, someone's put a bunch of Kid/Lou/Jimmy stuff up on YouTube, and that's kinda what inspired me to write about it. I forgot how much I loved all that! It was my first fandom ever, too! I mean, my friend Amy had horses and we would ride them and play Young Riders, lol. I was always Lou and she was ( ... )

I know. It's not right, but you can't go behind his back, either. That's just as not right and is only looking to get everyone hurt even more.

ooc: I'm happy to bring him out. He and Jimmy were always my favorites, while my best friend was in love with the Kid. We didn't have horses, but we still managed to run around and pretend they were in love with us. lol. As soon as I get the computer problems fixed, I'll try and do more with him. I'm just still trying to sort through all of that and get my full access back.

I ain't! Like I said, I told her just ta forget it! Now the only problem is ME forgettin' it. And I can't. Everytime I look at her... I can't stand seein' her hurt like that. And it ain't like I can just tell the Kid, 'oh hey, so Lou and I kissed and what have ya'.

First off, it ain't none of his business, 'cause they weren't together. Second, Lou'd hate me for doin' that to her. I won't hurt her like that, Buck. I won't do it. Ya understand that, right? I mean, ain't she been through enough hurtin' in her life?

I know it was a stupid idea, buyin' the ring. And givin' it to her would be even more stupid, 'cause what would she want with a guy like me, right? All I can do is get her killed. Seems ta be the only thing I'm good for.

OOC: BTW, in that one post, you nailed Buck perfectly. And take your time! Jimmy'll be here, lol.

I know he's my friend, Buck. That's why after it happened, I told her it ain't ever hapennin' again. I didn't even wanna talk about it. But I still bought the damn ring.
