That is exactly how it sounds. The phrasing is usually "Shinza..ni.....hai rei" with the last two syllables (I'm not even sure they are separate words) spaced more closely together than "shinza" and "ni"
We do the brief meditation too, both before the workout (after bowing in) and at closing (before bowing out).
Funny thing - when I was reading Lowrey's "In the Dojo" he talked about "mokuzo" and I remember thinking "If it is so common, how come we don't do that?" It took me until the next class to realize that "mokuzo" was what I was hearing as "moke-so."
It is this sort of thing that makes corresponding with you so helpful to me. :-)
