First update in a long time.

I found out that they have Birra Moretti Rossa at Varsity Pizza a few blocks away from my house. It's not the GS Supermercato, but then again, not much is. I think I'm finally mostly adjusted back into the ways of American society and all that business. I've been throwing myself into my job and am being rewarded for it reasonably well. It's probably for the best, seeing as I spent all my money in Italy and need to start saving again. Doing well on that front.

The social life is kind of been stoppered up a bit. No longer dating Justin. Some of my friends from Italy are still away or living wherever they live when they're not going to school. Christina (roomie!) got back recently, so I'll get to see her on Sunday. Talked to Xio-mama. Hopefully I'll get to visit her maybe in August. Sarah Ke fell off the face of the planet.

I've been feeling very temporary lately, like in the way of Willy Loman. I'm trying to save up for my future and for my own little future dream, but I feel like I'm not completely attached to the idea. I don't know whatever else I would do, but it just seems a lot less glamorous than it did a few years ago.

I miss cooking with fresh ingredients. The vegetables here are terrible, and expensive. I'm not really home ever to cook though, which is also upsetting. However, I am optimistic. I just got a bunch of new books because the Border's Books on S. Broad was having a sale. I got Siddhartha, The Fountainhead (on Alec's suggestion), The Rum Diary, Lolita, The Alchemist (on Xiomara's suggestion), and I just finished reading Nick Cave's And the Ass Saw the Angel.

There are some small moments of peace. They usually occur around quarter to one in the morning with a book and a mug of jasmine tea.
