A storm was rolling in. The little Dragon could smell the stench of dead fish on the wind that passed over the lake. She was now on her 3rd lap, racing around the valley at 120 mph on her bike. The force of her will kept the cops off her tail and others from attempting to race. The night air was warm and the sky clear. The kind of night where one just needs to get out. Seeing as her mind was racing, so too should she. Her brain focused on the cars that flashed by while her mind wandered back and forth. For a moment she could feel the fist light of dawn creeping over her skin and the warmth of flames. In the distance she could hear the screams of a young girl, not more the 12 as she burned alive inside her house. The same house that Ia had sealed up to hold her, after she had killed the rest of the family. That was a glorious dawn. Again she blinked as the bike glided around another semi truck. More memories breezed though the dark expanse of her mind. The stinging of the masters whips. Her first taste of candy. The nights of screams from the slaves. Building the warrens. Stepping up to become sheriff of the city. Casting of her first weapon. Learning to read in the large university. Undergoing the oath and becoming a Dragon Knight. Demolishing a house and the evidence inside in the blink of an eye. Creating his cane to be more to his liking. Sparing with the hound. The long days and nights of moving tons of earth. The times when he has said how proud of her, he is. The long night of conversation and Lacrima. The mounds of books she has left to read. The hunting and scorning of an enemy. The unknown events that closely lay ahead. His smile. By about her 5th pass near the mountains, the tank read empty. Slowing down, she peeled out into reality and pulled into a gas station. The few who were there paid little attention to her. Just another punk on a crotch rocket. Grumbling about gas prices she began to fuel up. Another bike buzzed into the space on the other side of the pump.

“Hay, ya think your bike is as fast as mine?”

As for now, dinner is served.
