A girl just came to the door asking for donations for breast cancer research.
She was quite beautiful with a yugoslavian accent, but very sad, quiet. She explained how every year 10,000 Australian women are diagnosed with breast cancer.
"So this goes towards researching treatments?" I asked. Yes it did.
I was that close, THAT CLOSE to saying "Well for God's sake, here, take the schematics, take the plans, get yourself $700 and build this damn thing - there are so many simple ways of curing cancer, I am NOT going to support this economic manslaughter."
But she was so sad - I wondered if she had experienced a related loss personally, and in the end I remained silent and gave her a donation.
This is stupid. You're supposed to feel good when you donate, to feel like you're making a difference, you've done a good deed. Instead I feel physically ill having supported the pharmeceutical death-camps. This is rediculous.
Suckered by a pretty face once again. Damn.
