have you ever thought about the possibility of not being able to like somebody you love? a line in the ani difranco song "used to you" made me really think about this. it goes like this:
"i could love you. yeah, i've entertained the thought. i dont like you, so i'd better not."
even though she's saying she knows better than to love this guy that she cant even like, she does anyway. or maybe she's going to fight her own feelings and drop him completely. it would seem difficult to love someone you cant even like, doesnt it? yet, i think a lot of people do it all the time. like, people in abusive relationships. they hate the situation they're in, but they cant leave. maybe part of that is because of fear, but lots of times i think it might be because of unconditional love. or maybe we're all just so fucked up that we think we deserve the hurt.
WE ACCEPT THE LOVE WE THINK WE DESERVE.

im going to go read, and then hit the downtown restaurants.
maybe try to hook up with johnny at some point.
