I often wonder if my humor isn't presented correctly or if it isn't humorous to anyone but me. Maybe I should add more action notations or emoticons to indicate sarcasm.
Someone tried to take me to task tonight about my impromptu rendition of a George Carlin routine about hyphenated names. I find them slightly annoying because it confuses things for me. I am straightforward in my thoughts thanks to whatever mental condition I have. Routine is first, middle, last. One word each, usually simple syllables. Hyphenated words often confuse me, so hyphenated names are doubly trying. That's why I love his routine on hyphenated names. If you've not seen it, it's pretty graphic on the sexist language because he aimed it at the feminists who thought adding their name and husband's was a modern step.
It's not. Hyphenated last names have been used for centuries by the noble class of many countries.
The thing is, I love it and decided to use it, properly attributed. And, like always, someone didn't get the reference and thought I was being serious. Serious about denying people their rights because of their confusing last names.
*foreheadslap*
Okay, bitchy internet commentators, okay. I get it. Not everyone knows the cool references. George Carlin's been gone for a few years and the PC police have been trying to erase his contributions, so people aren't up with edgy comedy anymore.
The joke is, if it annoys you a little, blow it way the fuck out of proportion and make it seem like everything is just this big hassle and you feel better about being quirky and maybe work through your issues. That's why it's funny.
I shoulda commented on a Bill Cosby story. Those SJWs there woulda taken a good George Carlin rape joke well. We know they have a great sense of humor. That's another reason I'm so glad Joan's gone. This whole situation with one of her oldest friends woulda killed her if those selfie-happy bimbos hadn't done it first. Maybe we should introduce them to Bill. We already know they like screwing around with people knocked out on drugs.
