awakenings the sixty-seventh

"Why do angels have wings~?" The bespectacled, dark-haired boy asked. His height made him look much older, but judging by the way he acted he couldn't have been much older than five. Despite his immaturity, however, he had just spent the last half hour staring fascinatedly at a stained-glass picture of an angel.

"So that they can fly, of course," the priest replied.

"Why do they fly~?"

"Because they live in the heavens."

"Whyyyyyyyyy~~?"

The priest pauses, and just looks at the child. It didn't take him too long to figure out where this was going, did it? "... Child, where are your parents?"

This memory appears to be in the first-person. All that can be seen are the pages of a book, written in Latin, being slowly turned. There are a few diagrams of birds' wings and skeletons.

A voice - someone looking over the reader's shoulder, "So you think that you'll grow wings if you study them enough?"

The reader laughs - nervously? - and closes the book.

"What are you drawing?" A woman in a bodice bends somewhat stiffly to look over Clow's (for he looks more or less like he does at present) shoulder.

"The heavens are supposedly unattainable by man," he replies without looking up. "That's why angels live there and why they have wings."

Clow angles the sketchbook so that she can get a better view; a sketch of what might become a certain Moon Guardian taking shape.

He grins, already proud of what he knows he will accomplish. "I'm going to prove them all wrong."

[ooc: Sorry for the tl;dr and narrative format! ;o; There... really isn't anything in canon that I could have used for this curse, so I just kinda pulled something out of my personal canon. ._. H-hope nobody minds!]

chi's headcanon, yue, wing fetish, not eriol, yue is hot, likes feathers, cursed, teeny clow is always cute though, bit of a god complex
