She stood in the doorway, framed by the light of the hall, and his mind went back to that once upon a time day. His hearts skipped two beats, and he felt the ghost of fear flash across his consciousness. Rose may have not been in a red cape, but that Wolf had almost taken her from him. 851 ( Read more... )

What? That's it? Oh no, can't be! *looks completely shocked*

Okay, seriously ;) Very good glimpse, and well written; I felt like watching it from somewhere above, like I was close by and yet so far away.

I've been thinking about the topic myself... that there must be moreto it, since Rose has to be something special, since not even the Doctor could "survive" having the Time Vortex in his head - and it was for a much shorter period of time than Rose had it.

Hehehe, give 'em just a taste, make 'em come back for more, that's my motto. *evil eyebrow waggle*

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this. I really wish RTD and Co. had explored/explained the Rose as the Bad Wolf concept a bit more, too, especially since all of s1 led up to this HUGE REVEAL, and then we got very little insight into the whole situation and it was basically dropped but for a couple of very small references in s2 and s4.

Yeah, um, hello? I second the above -- where's the rest??

This has the potential to be way more than what is currently written, but as a onesie, it's competely breathtaking. The shortness of the piece just happens to give the right amount of fear that the audience echoes with the Doctor, coyness from Rose's dialogue, and a very nice flow between the "old" and "new" Doctors.

And I love the allegory!

Although: The author has a good grasp of 19th-century Canadian social issues.” We have 19th century social issues? I guess it depends where in Canada you were living, though... :)

Hehehe, I'm so evil. I could have written twice as much thanks to the parimeters of the challenge, but I thought I'd be cruel and cut it off there. There may be a sequel at some point....

Thank you! I'm so glad you left this awesome comment; I really appreciate the longer, more insightful comments as to opposed the simple "I loved it!" or "Eh, this could be better." kinds.

The Tenderness of Wolves has a lot about prejudice and the racial segregation of Native Americans in it, as well as some biting commentary on small town politics. It's a REALLY GOOD BOOK, if you're looking for something riveting to read. :D

Hehehe, thanks, bebe! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! ♥

I think I may just have to write a sequel, considering how eager everyone is! X^D
