WE'RE GOING TO THE SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello State Championship. NICE TO MEET YOU.
ok well this was the most exciting thing thats happened to me like EVER. our team has a lot of talent but we were always jsut the "fun team" and we never really took it seriously. and we never did that great in other tournaments even though we probly could have won all of them.
but when we got to states we were all business. on sat we had 3 games. we won the first won and it was a shutout. we lost the second one but by one run. and she was a girl who got hit by a pitch.. but she fucking didn't even TRY to move out of the way. w/e. and we won the third game and it was also a shutout. so we only had one run scored against us all day. and thats why we were the first seed!!!!
on sunday we had four games. we had no breaks all day which is fucking rediculous.
we sent three teams home b/c we won all three of the games you needed to to get to the SHIP.
The third game is like a stereotypical hard battleyou have to go through to get into the championship. in the third game the other team was winning for a while, and then we came back and tied it. we went into an international tie-breaker. and we were the away team all day (for good luck reasons) and so we had all the pressure on us. and amy thompson hits a fucking triple which scores us a run b/c someone is automatically on 2nd. and the first girl up bunts...and i cover first and get her out and the other girls rounds 2nd and goes to third and i fucking make a DOUBLE PLAY. holla. i threw her out at third. it was awesome. and they didn't score after that. it was so nerve racking...i was like gonna barf.
i was so HAPPY when we won that game. we were all jumping and screaming and we walked so slow to the stadium and we we're all screaming WE'RE GOING TO THE SHIPPPPPP. and were like dancing around in the bathroom . it was so fun. but we played 3 games back to back. with no breaks at all. before the ship. and we didn't have any break before the ship either. which is sooo rediculous. and the team we were playing only played 2 games before the ship and had a fucking HOUR break. so they were totally ready for it unlike us. we were all spent. we lost the ship by like 3 but no one cared. we were just soooo happy to make it that far.
and now we a have a bid to motherfucking nationals. how cool is that? i seriously can't believe it.
