Well, here's some news in my life:
I start a new job today!
For my old company. For my old project manager.
For those of you who are smacking themselves in the forehead, yes, I know that my old PM was a major problem of a person to work with. I know that I hated my job. However, this new job has some things going for it:
- It's a job I can 'work-from-home'.
- It's part-time. Which admittedly isn't ideal, but it gives me a chance to focus on the craft side of things, which hasn't been taking off (entirely my fault, I think).
- It's in a field I want to move towards. I hope! No more finance, yay!
So while I am going to be working directly with my PM, rather than the client, I hope that the benefits of being able to list 'Desktop Publisher' and/or 'Technical Writer' on my resume will help me find jobs that I actually want to work full time.
So, yeah.
At some point, I really need to give everyone the gory details about my surgery, and my so-far amazing recovery (thanks
ahavah_ehyeh! and everyone else who's sent healing vibes my way). But that's not going to be today, or at least right now.
