Life, thy name is irony (or something like that)

So. Many of you know that ambug666 and I moved into a new house recently. As is often the case, much of our stuff is in boxes.

Fast forward to this week.

I had no idea where the iron or the grommet-setting tool were (two crucial items for my costume for In The Dark Times.) So I borrow said items from people. Today, I need to dig through the garage to find some other sewing stuff (which, incidentally, I still didn't find. I had to go out and get a measuring tape. I have at least three, somewhere... Grr.)

The first thing I see, practically in front of my face, is the grommet-setting tool.

As I rummage through boxes, I find some supplies I didn't actually need to buy for my mask. The mask which, barring the paint and pretties, is pretty much completed.

Then I find the iron.

Gah.

On the other hand, the costume is turning out nicely. At least, the Fae part is. I decided to go with silk I had (not the original I was thinking of, but another, brighter color with a more satin finish to it) with a lacy fabric overlay in a peplos (or peplus, or peplum) style. It's not done yet, but it should be sweet looking when it is.
