A quick update on my sorry state of affairs...

Well, actually, not so sorry. Things are going relatively well inside the Scribble-head. So, in no particular order...

Health I have been fighting a non-specific gastritis thing for about... two weeks now? Maybe three? I don't know what's causing it, hence the non-specific nature of the beast. It has been suggested that I have food allergies (I have no environmental allergies to speak of). Since I am rapidly getting sick of this, I will probably make an appointment with the allergist. It may be as simple a thing as lactose-intolerance. I hope not, because I love most things dairy (Cheese, Gromit!).

I am currently also fighting a cold that has seriously sapped my energy level. It sent me home early yesterday, but after a brief nap I was actually able to be productive (which will be discussed later in this post). It is filling my nasal passages with thick, gross, green gunk and making the back of my throat feel "sick". Not streppy, though. Which is good.

I have decided that chamomile tea tastes like sweet, hot, wet hay. Given the tummy issues and the throat issues, it seems to be what I need.

Home Ah yes, the house. The house that doesn't feel like ours yet. Well, hopefully I have done a little to dispel this feeling:
  • I put up curtains in the dining room
  • I built the entryway/foyer cabinet
  • we put together BILLY the bookcase
  • I put up drapes in my "office balcony"
  • I put up Roman blinds in ambug666's office
  • I installed the wine glass racks and put the wine glasses on them (and do I honestly need 8+ champagne flutes?)
  • I have installed the industrial hooks to hang the ironing board on
  • I have installed the wall hanging unit for the iron (now all we need to do is find the iron to hang in it)
  • I assembled our new porch swing (never mind that it's on the back patio!)
  • I have hung up the 'closet' rod in the laundry room to store hangers on
  • I have perforated about one-third of the wallpaper in the main level bathroom
This is everything I could think of that I've done in the last week or so. Many of these items I did yesterday. Today my plan is getting my office in some sort of order, taking care of the fish and his tank, replacing some bolts that were missing on the porch swing, all not necessarily in this order. Fish will probably take precedence.

Yesterday, we had very sproratic internet connection at home... it made reviewing certain site very aggravating. Hopefully it will be better tonight.

Work Work is well, work. Our e-mail is down, and a system critical to my job did not come on-line until about... 10 or 10:30 this morning? Keep in mind I have been here for 2.5 - 3 hours at this point. E-mail loss is sending me into withdrawal, I just know it. It's my only link with the outside world. Wah!

OK, not really. I shudder to think of how many e-mails I have waiting for me once it does come back on-line; there are probably clients and things believing that I've abandoned them, when it's just that I can't get to their e-mails.

That's about it with work. Other than the technical difficulties, nothing interesting or dramatic has gone on. Which is good. I've been somewhat busy, which is also good. The on-line training is a bear, but oh well. The system is overloaded with everyone trying to fulfill a requirement, and it's really slow. And to top it all off, I have lost my place, and got dropped by the system, so now I have to thread through all of the lessons to get back to the one I was working on. Fortunately, I wasn't at an exam portion when this happened-- if I had lost the answers I made I would be really frustrated.

Life Life. So far, this year has been an emotional rollercoaster. Hopefully, it will get better. I have great friends and a wonderful husband who are willing to help me out. Yay.

my job, our house, my health
