i || waking up in strange places

To be perfectly honest, his heart was pounding. Maybe not in total fear, but it was definitely there, underneath the thick layers of stubborn composure. But he wasn't about to let anyone see that, let alone admit it to himself, either. With his back pressed against the cold stone of a broken building that had once reached for the sky, he waited.

And waited.

And waited.

There was nothing. No movement, no footsteps, no voices. Weren't cities supposed to have some sort of life in them? He'd seen more run down places before, but this was just uncomfortable. Especially since it looked like a swarm of demons had gone haywire in Kagome's side of the well, too. That just put him off from the start.

Finally, after ten minutes of nothing but baited breath, he ventured forward. He wasn't a scaredy cat, but he was much too uneasy with it being so close to that horrendously special time of the month. It was the soft sound of whirring metal and the chime of a 'beep' that had him nearly whipping his sword out to smash the very thing he needed. However unknown to him at the time it was. Luckily or not, that kick he'd given it had flipped the temperamental video button to 'on'.

"What the hell is this piece of shit?"

wtf am i
