Seriously, it's one of the best things I've ever read, mostly for the characters and the epicness of the journey than for the concept of every male mammal suddenly dying. But that was interesting too, of course. I don't even have words right now besides YES!! YESSS READ IIIITTT!! There's the smart-mouthed last man, secret agents, crazy Israeli soldiers, ASTRONAUTS!! AND MONKEYS!! It's so good.
The story is basically: every male mammal suddenly dies except for 20-something Yorick and the monkey he was going to train as a helper. From there he embarks on a journey to find his girlfriend who was in Australia when it all happened, and also find out why he and the monkey survived (although is two companions are more interested in that. He mostly wants to find his lady).
I WAS LITERALLY SHAKING AND CRYING!! I SAW THE RED DOT ON HER FOREHEAD AND HAD TO PUT THE COMIC DOWN SO I WOULDN'T CRY ON IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT MINE AND I DIDN'T WANT TO RETURN IT WITH TEAR STAINS. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
But yeah from that point on, I cried straight through to the end. It was amazing.
I knew she was going to die, I just... didn't imagine it going down like that AT ALL. I thought she'd die sacrificing herself for Yorick and Beth but this was a bajillion times worse. And yeah, I LOOOOVED it!! So much.
RIGHT?! It was amazing. It was a very well written fast-forward, too, with enough flashbacks to answer what happened to everyone else. It didn't feel cheesy at all. ♥
Awwww noooooooooo!!! :'( The reveal of what Yorick's vision was in his intervention? I just thought it was all perfect. Story wise, of course, because if I'd had my way that character would not have died, no matter how fitting. :(
OHHH OK. I see. Yeah, as you can tell by what I thought you meant, that wasn't even the big reveal because it wasn't so much of a REVEAL but more "another theory". At least that's how I saw it. That's not to say that knowing why all the males died totally didn't matter by the end, but by then no answer would have been 100% satisfying so I didn't worry too much about it. I'm sorry it killed your enjoyment, though. :( I'm coming off this high from loving it all so much.

SO MUCH LOVE. THE ENDING, JUST WOW. I usually hate fast-forwards but DAMN, that was good.

I do need to reread the series. But the reasoning for death of the males really killed a huge chunk of my enjoyment.
