Who drove to the mall today?
I did.
I don't know how we decided we were going to the mall (finally! the Hallmark store called me an eternity ago telling me they got my ornament in), but my dad said he'd let me drive and let that be my "ultimate test" or something. I don't know, he's weird. Last time he said my "ultimate test" would be crushing cans by driving over them, because that meant I was completely aware and in control of where my wheels are. "Once you do that," he said, "you will be ready."
So we all piled into my car, with my dad next to me so he could guide me, and off we went to Arcadia. All down Atlantic, then all the way down Huntington Dr, where a few blocks after my dad started telling me to watch out for cars backing out of parking spaces, some asswipe almost hit me at an intersection. FUCKER CAME OUT OF NOWHERE! MY light had been green for A WHILE, and this jerk drove almost halfway into my lane. I got to honk my horn, though. :D
The mall was fun, as always, but it would have been better if some people hadn't started getting all whiny and wanting to leave.
My mom stayed with me the whole time, while my dad and Robbie did their own thing. Our first stop was the Hallmark store to pick up my ornament. I tried buying this a month ago, but when I got to the register and checked it, it was cracked. So I put my number on a list so they'd call me when they got new ones in.
Isn't it glorious? I love it. You wind it up at the bottom and it plays the theme tune and Belle and the Beast spin around. I like that it has nothing to do with Christmas so I can keep it on a shelf all year, but honestly, I love Beauty and the Beast so much, I wouldn't care.
I also bought this pen, because I'm still 6 years old:
Then it was off to Macys to look around, mostly. I wanted a new Harajuku Lovers purse (when don't I?), but I was waiting for a design I HAD to have. I also had two Macy's gift cards just itching to be used, so I got this:
I looooove it!
Then we went to Sephora. First, let me say I love this store. For being in a mall, it's really big and just wonderful. Previously, the closest Sephora to me was in Pasadena and that one is tiny and cramped. This one wins, though. I got the Bare Minerals starter kit which I've wanted for a while, but I wanted to go to a store to actually see which set would be right for my skin tone. A saleslady found us and was SO nice, helped me apply some foundation, and was just really friendly and chatty. I tried on LAVANILA's
vanilla grapefruit perfume while she went off to find a brush. I need to go back for some of that because it smells so so pretty. I've been compulsively sniffing my wrist since we left the store. *sniff* so goooood! Oh! And with my purchase, I got to choose a special beauty insider sample and chose a little jar of
Oscar Blandi Marine Mud Treatment. It's for my hair, but I can't wait to use it because it smells fantastic. This is also the best sample I've gotten from Sephora because it's not some wimpy little wannabe ketchup packet with barely enough product for me to even know if it's something I'd like to use. This jar definitely has enough for two treatments, maaaaybe three because my hair is short. I CAN'T STOP SMELLING IT EITHER!!
Finally, after more of us walking around and being annoyed because my dad kept calling and asking to leave and we couldn't browse in peace, we went into the Disney Store, called in by the Siren that was the WALL-E display.
Both of us wanted EVERYTHING. Why is everything so precious?? I got this little play set
Chillin' with the Doctor, yeah! I just thought it would be a good place to put them, and I didn't take pictures of Nine when I got him since my camera was dead. Obviously, I just took pictures of things because I could :D
My mom and I have tentative plans to go back sometime next week, probably to the Disney Store because she has some discount card she forgot to bring this time. I didn't drive home because I was cranky at having to be rushed and I didn't even get to finish my garlic pretzel. MMmm... I could go for another one.
Not a bad day.
