I loves me my opera, as I said yesterday, and I don't like anyone else's as much as I love Puccini's. First off, he wrote Madama Butterfly, my favorite of all time. "Con onor muore", the last bit in the opera where Butterfly kills herself nearly always makes me cry, cos her little boy runs in right before she does anything and she says goodbye and- GAH! Like La Boheme isn't emotional enough! And have I mentioned I love Turandot? The rest of it could suck, and I'd love it for "Nessun dorma" alone.
OH! and I loveloveLOVE the music when Butterfly's uncle crashes her wedding with Pinkerton and disowns her. I just love that theme... oh god.

Way before I read "big people books", my dad told me the plot of Fahrenheit 451 and I read and loved it a few years later. I just love Bradbury and see him as an actual storyteller, like Pullman.
