I come bearing a tale of the Happiest Place on Earth! :D
Okay, so, Jackie came to pick me up at about eight, and then we went to fetch Carol. Jackie made us muffins and brought milk and orange juice to wash them down with. No one drank the milk though- Carol doesn't like it cos it makes her phlegmy, and I'm not allowed to have it. Anywho, the whole point of this visit was to see Christian, the German exchange student who went to Keppel during our junior year. Jackie got rather friendly with him, if you know what I mean. ;D But they're just friends now and wanted to hang out. I'm not too clear on who Christian is staying with, but he had to drive up from Palm Springs with the people he was staying with. (I think he's staying with the same host family, but why they now live in Palm Springs is a mystery to me.)
We waited for Christian a bit right in front of the ticket booths, but as more people streamed in we decided to buy our tickets first and then wait some more. And more. Apparently they were stuck in trafic and then had to check into a hotel (cos he gets to stay and go to California Adventure today) so he didn't get there until ten-ish. Long story short, just the four of us hung out, cos I don't know where the people Christian came with went off to. Meh. The only thing we all did together was watch this cute documentary (hosted by Steve Martin, OMG!!) on how Disneyland came to be.
We started off riding Star Tours (and I realised that everytime I got with my family we also start off on Star Tours. It's an accidental tradition, I suppose!) and then went to the new Buzz Lightyear ride. OMFG!! That thing is the funnest ride ever!! EVER!! Each car has this little joystick thing to spin it around, and everyone gets a blaster to shoot things with!! HEEEE!! SO MUCH FUN!!!11 We got Fastpasses for Space Mountain and then we wandered into Fantasyland.
There were an awful lot of people, ("a sea of humanity" as Christian's host called it) but the lines seemed to go by really quickly. I think it was probably because when one is little everything just drags on. Also, we were keeping each other entertained, so we were never, ever bored. We went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride... for some reason. Ah yes, Carol promised us it would be weird, and fun... but it was just rather pointless, regardless of its fifty years. Carol's expression at the end of the ride best expressed everyone's feelings about it: o_o. bwaha. Then we rode Small World, and while we were getting onto the boat, the guy sitting in those little stands in the island thing complimented me on my Kip shirt. :D
After that... hmm. I think that was it for Fantasyland, cos I think Carol and Christian had had previous puking experiences on the Teacups, so we couldn't ride them. Poop. We did ride the Matterhorn though, which was awesome. Everytime I heard that "Please remain seated..." recording I kept humming the beginning of "Tragic Kingdom". bwahaha. The Matterhorn, by the by, scares the crap out of me. It just has such low-hanging erm... "ice" things that I'm seriously scared I'm going to hit my head on them, eventhough the ride plunges you down just in time. Aaah. But I looooove it. :D
After that we wound our way back to Tomorrowland to eat, I think, cos it was almost time for us to use our Fastpasses for Space Mountain. Jackie... is insane. She's an insane driver and an insane walker. She just managed to find little spaces between people and she wound her way through crowds very quickly. So a lot of our time was spent trying not to lose her in that sea of humanity.
Space Mountain was... AMAZING. holy crap. I liked it a lot before and now I just LOVE the damn thing. It's pitch black in there and there's just a bunch of little dancing lights and... omg, I need to go on it again. And they need to play some Electric Six in there. It would be the coolest thing ever to have the little carts rise up slowly with: "DANGER, DANGER!! HIGH VOLTAGE!!" in the background. No one puked up their pizza thank jebus. HEE! Then we wound our way to Adventureland so we could get Fastpasses for Indiana Jones, and then we went on Jungle Cruise. I feel sooo bad for the "tour guides" on the cruises cos no one really laughs at anything they say. The four of us were the only ones laughing at the guy's jokes, and it was mostly cos they were soooo bad.
All the while our feet were really hurting, but Jackie had too much energy so we had no choice but to keep going. We wound our way to New Orleans and went on Pirates of the Caribbean. Carol was peeved cos she sat on the edge of the boat and got splashed with dirty water. Jackie got mad cos Christian poured dirty water on her. Bad little German boy! AHA, and then we went on the Haunted Mansion. hee! When we were first asked to step into that room, the one before the elevator room, Christian was trying to scare Jackie and me, and then when we went into the next room and the lights were turned out, he tickled both of us and we just screamed. But I think my reaction was due to the whole, getting scared just for the sake of giving the boy a laugh. Ah well, I smacked him for it anyway.
After Thunder Mountain Railroad (which was TOO much fun) we tried going on Splash Mountain and stood in line for a good long while only to find out that the ride had to be closed down. So we waited some more, cos they said the least it would take was thirty minutes to fix. Thirty minutes later and they offered us Fastpasses for any ride that wasn't Space Mountain because it was going to take a lot longer to fix. We were bummed out and very, VERY tired. Our feet were about ready to fall off. We rested for a bit and then decided to use our Fastpass on Autopia. It was then, on our way back to Tomorrowland, that I heard "Can't Buy Me Love" and realised that a Beatle's tribute band was playing on that Buzz Lightyear stage in the food court. AAAH! I LOVED THEM!!! I love Beatles tribute bands. These guys were too cute, all in their mop top hair cuts and cute little grey suits. ^___^ It was dark by this time, and we had to fight against a greater number of people who were lining up to watch the fireworks. Autopia was fun, if only cos Carol and I got to scream at Jackie and Christian's car for going too friggin' slow (which, according to Jackie was the car's fault, and Christian wasn't doing it intentionally).
Afterwards we decided to give Space Mountain another try since our Indy passes were for 10:20-11:20. While we were in line, the first fireworks show went off, much to Jackie's disappointment, cos she wanted to see them. We saw enough from the roof, though, but we could all tell it was awesome. More Christian smacking, more feet about to fall off at the ankles. It was sooo much cooler the second time. I will never, ever tire of that ride. We got out at exactly 10:20 and wound our way back to Adventureland for INDY!! :D We were put in the back of a very... unexcited jeep. We were the ones screaming and laughing and all four of us clapped when, at the very end, the robot Dr. Jones shakes his head and goes: "Tourists!" XD It was awesome!!!11
Jackie was sad that we missed another fireworks display, but we were all exhausted and there was nothing left to ride since we found out earlier that the Matterhorn also had to shut down. So we just went to Main St. and settled outside the Blue Ribbon Bakery, which is where my visits to Disneyland usually end, with a nice glass of milk and a cinnamon roll. It almost, ALMOST didn't end that way. First, the line took hella days to get through, and then, when I got to the front I got one of those poor new employees figuring out how to work the register. I was angry at him cos he was the bearer of bad news- they were out of cinnamon rolls. WTF? They are NEVER out! They always have more to put frosting on! But I just got my coffee and a croissant. As I waited for my coffee, I saw a huge tray of cinnamon rolls being frosted. I could have thrown a tantrum, I was so tired and disappointed. I get very ridiculous when I'm tired, and I felt like crying for being denied the one thing I'd been looking forward to since Jackie suggested we go to Disneyland with Christian. But Carol is a doll, and she went to buy Jackie some coffee since she needed to wake up, and she also got me a cinnamon roll. yay.
We drove Christian back to his hotel and we were all just... exhausted. He was a very good sport considering he had to wake up at 5:30 to make it over from Palm Springs.
Best Disneyland Visit Ever. EVER!!
I am le tired.
No Tofu festival today, Carol's sister said it wasn't worth it, and we're still tired from yesterday. So we just went to Jackie's house, had cake, mochi ice cream, and watched 24 Hour Party People and the end of Misery on the telly.
I <3 Disneyland, and Christian is one of those dorks who likes to tease me. Like Joel. boourns
Oh, and girls (as in, The Awesome Dept.) we got our suite. :) WE'RE GONNA BE LIVIN' ON THE TOP FLOOR WITH NO JERKS TO HAVE SEX ABOVE US!! WOOOOOHOO!!!!1
(Oh yes, and if I can't have an English boy, I'd like... any other kind of European boy. Just saying. Christian had an adorable accent. XD)
P.S. Boo-urns to
