[Once again, there's a disgruntled, bloodied Hakuba with bloody holes in his clothing grumping downstairs in the Inn.]

[Oh, he's got spare clothes that aren't mauled, he's just not going to worry about them at the moment.]

[If anyone saw him last time, it looks like his impalement this time was even MORE excessive.]

[Stupid Pyramid Head. Stupid

[detective conan] hakuba saguru

"It's about time!" Conan shouted when he spotted Habuka. Despite his tone, he had been worried. He could never get himself to quite believe the Island would always pull through for the revival. Even with the exhaustion after escaping Clam Island, he hadn't been able to sleep well at all.

Hakuba's response to that was mostly a dry snort and a nod, then checking his watch. And scowling, because it's wound down - no ticking, no nothing. Somewhere, in the back of his head, there's a little OCD fetish screaming in torment, but the only real visible tic is a small eyetwitch while one train of thought is pondering how best to set up a sundial to get the most accurate reading to reset the watch by.

"I take it I was gone longer than the usual?"

...wow, went to prose. Don't know why. 17_going_on_8 November 15 2010, 02:34:26 UTC
It doesn't matter how long you were gone! You died! From a monster and an Angel!

[K-kind of freaked out.]

...Neither do I. (Also, OH his priorities.) im_in_ur_exit November 15 2010, 02:38:55 UTC
Ironically the last two or so seconds were surprisingly peaceful, impalement aside; I'm not sure where or when it sent me, but it wasn't where we'd been.

[...He's studying his watch and the scowl just deepened.] It killed my watch. The bastard thing killed my watch!

... [You have problems dude.]

Where it sent you? Where...does it send you? [He had the more unpleasant killing attempt.]

It looked like it may've been one of the islands but - it was quiet, empty, perfectly normal. No unusual trees that I could see, no signs of people or anything that would be out of the ordinary on a tropical island.

Of course bleeding to death and massive internal damage put a damper on that.

[He's still scowling at the watch. FAMILY HEIRLOOM. IT HASN'T STOPPED IN SEVENTY-FOUR YEARS, TWO MONTHS, ONE WEEK, AND SEVEN HOURS. AND THE BASTARD ANGEL KILLED IT.]

...wait, you were still injured and alive?! [He thought the Angel killed you!]

[Angels suck.]

You said they steal time, didn't you? I half wonder if it didn't somehow - pull from something that caused me to get flung to some point either far past or far future. I didn't last very long, that thing's sword is worse than the witches' spears.

[If there is a way to avenge the watch, he will find it. :| Now he needs an atomic clock to reset it once it's re-wound...AND IT HAD BETTER STILL WORK...]

You...you still... [Excuse him, he's being trauma'd some more right now.]

Conan? I've been impaled three times in the last two months. I'm starting to hit a point where I think I'm used to it enough to keep cataloging things after shock sets in, and the Angel caught up right about the same time the monster's sword did. A half-second difference and the blade may've passed through where I'd just been.
I couldn't tell you much specific beyond that, I'm amazed I caught what I did; I just remember wondering where the strange trees were and how quiet and empty the place was before I blacked out completely.
[He's going to leave out that considering what happened, he's fairly sure that was messier than dying to the witches.]

[L-looking at the ground. Excuse him, he's kind of...reliving the entire moment in vivid detail, cursed good memory of his.]

Conan. [He's dropping down to kneel next to him.] I'm fine now, and honestly, that wasn't nearly as frustrating or miserable as the last time I'd died; I was actually moving and able to do something to keep someone ELSE from suffering the same, that time, instead of being stuck helplessly waiting for the inevitable.

...I'm going to kill that thing for the watch, however. PARTICULARLY if it doesn't start again when it's re-wound.

... [Of course, you can imagine how frustrating it is for him you DID die.]

I....I survived until the end. I found Beato... [Voice is shaking slightly.]

Don't go near Angels. Never...never go near Angels.

[He's putting a hand on Conan's shoulder; yes, he IS more worried about the other two - as sucky as that was, it could've been SO much worse.] Was she alright? Did you two make it out okay?

...I was being sarcastic - you should know by now I don't pick fights I have no way of winning.

[Nods.] We made it out all right. Heh, even got to keep a promise I made.

...Hakuba, we both get into insane fights. Even if some have more chance than I first thought.

Then we've both come out of this one intact.

...I won't go after the angels. I'd rather avoid them; I don't think I want to know what the things did to traumatize you like that.
