...damn, this wound's worse than I thought.  I expected to be able to rest it off, but it's definitely much more severe.

I can barely move my back at this point.  I don't like the idea of doing this, but I guess I'll have to have a bit of faith at this point.  It's either that or paralysis, and I've still got work to do.  ( Read more... )

... I don't have any useful remedies for such a thing. Or really, the ingredients necessary for the few I do know.

I take it your murderer is revived?

So it seems. This whole moon fiasco threw me off-balance, and he must've snuck off in the mayhem.

Learned that he's got more tricks though.

It was the perfect coincidence, he can't be faulted for it.

So it seems. Are you certain that flesh will heal?

...hell, if I needed a distraction, I would have used the moon too. Terrible timing for me, but nothing can be done about that now.

Won't be sure until I try. As far as I could tell, he was disintegrating the flesh a layer at a time. It took him several minutes to make it that deep, though he was dragging it out on purpose.

True enough. And I assume the item that was his is back in his possession, as well?

Yeah. Though he's under the impression that I'm dead right now.

An advantage. Are you going to take the item again?

That's where it gets difficult. He's not likely to fall for another ambush, and I've got no way of knowing where he'll be at any given time.

We can prioritize four possibilities, given what's already known, though pinpoint tracking will be a bit impossible, as you say.

...the only way to draw him out that I'm almost certain may work is if I'm vulnerable to his attack.

That's not a very good option. Granted, bait can be planted easily, but the question becomes how well we can keep him under wraps. This island's already shown that's not a likely possibility, with the tricks that get pulled.

It's not a great plan, and I'm more than open to hearing better ones...but I'll do what I have to if it comes down to it.

Something that might slow his pacing would be nice. There's no telling--I know too little of this man.

Me too, apparently. And learning by example isn't going to get anyone very far.

As irritating as it is, the defensive is the only approach until a clever solution is possible.

So it would seem. I'll have to keep thinking on that until a better solution reveals itself. If you've got any input, I'm all ears.
