I know several Earth varieties are edible but which one is this?

This book is entirely unhelpful. "The Comprehensive Book of Plant-life of the South Pacific Islands" should be more comprehensive.

*scowling at it* Yes. And I am not entirely sure we are in the South Pacific but it is the only one I could find and my knowledge of Earth plants is lacking.

What you've got there is conventional seaweed. Edible, but not so great on its own. Aside from the berries, any of the fruit growing around here is safe.

So it is an edible variety. Good. My next task will be finding recipes to make everything palatable.

They are on the planet Earth in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean. I'm not entirely sure this is one but the environment seemed similar enough so I thought perhaps similar plants would grow here.

If it doesn't look like it should grow on trees, but it does, it's probably safe. Like the strawberries, and the noodle packets. Only that doesn't work for everything, hehe. Otherwise people would be eating panties.
