Your character's name (last, first): Ichimaru Gin
Series your character's from: Bleach
Background info on your character: Gin is... well. Creepy and incomprehensible doesn't really cover it, but it's a good place to start! Let's start with the fact that he only has one expression: a fox-faced smirk that, while on first glance could be mistaken for a friendly one is actually quite unsetteling.

Then we go into the rest of his personality, which brings to mind a creepy little kid who likes pulling the wings off flies 'cause he thinks it's interestin'! Combine that with the cunning of a rather sadistic adult who speaks in the vaguest way possible (and in a horribly thick Kansai-ben dialect), and! well! He also enjoys bugging the hell out of everyone, or at least scarring them for life. He is also quite possibly the most tactless person on earth.

But Gin really isn't all bad. (maybe.) When he was a kid in the more sparse bits of Rukongai(the bit of the Soul Society a.k.a. the afterlife where normal people's souls hang out until they're reincarnated or, if they're spiritually powerful and lucky enough, they become Shinigami), he randomly saved the life of Rangiku Matsumoto, who was then a cute wee girl but is now Miss Fanservice Soul Society.

Due to his upbringing, Gin is probably not very literate and one must wonder how he got to be Captain of the Third Division of the elite Gotei 13 in the first place. He is a rather powerful Shinigami, but does not seem to be the type to trust with anything. Except by his former Captain, of course. ...who is a huge-ass spoiler and it would be best not to go into that sort of thing while there are Bleach virgins around.

He was sent to the islands on a mission, but this Mysterious Force is keeping him on the islands rather than letting him go back to the Soul Society.

...so hiya, everyone! Nice day t' be stuck on some island with no way of escapin', ain't it?

A list of things your character might have on them after they got snatched up and put on this island:
-His zanpakuto, Shinsou. It's basically a wakizashi(short katana) that, when "released" by Gin's command phrase("Shoot to kill, Shinsou!"), rapidly extends. ...please refrain from jokes of questionable taste, as they've been done. A lot. (except don't, really, as they never get old.)

-Some medicine

-A gigai (fake body that is used when a shinigami must interact with living folk)

-Clothes of questionable taste for said gigai

(...er. I hope the sample post is alright, since Gin doesn't go into long speeches and is at his best when interacting with others...)
