I shouldn'ta done it...

...but I got my Q3 statement and had to look and see just how much dough I have lost since September 20th.  I have now lost 5k this year.  I shouldn't complain, I am starting from scratch after years of being a poor student, liquidating my prior retirement to do things like eat and buy a home.  Others have lost far more.

Here's the thing, though.  Since I'm starting from scratch, I'm very aware that the bucks lost were actually my bucks--not interest, not prior gain, not interest earned on MF'g interest--MY money.  And I'm just a little sick about this...because I would have been better buying a car with that.  Or hiring a nanny.  OR feeding someone...

Adult EMO moment:  I'm never going to be able to retire, because I'm never going to have a fund.  *facepalm*

You'll see me pushing a grocery cart one day, I am sure.  Which reminds me of some poor soul I spotted today.  Her basket so full and overloaded it looked like the cage of the cart was seconds from implosion.  Literally, this bundle of goodies was easily 7 feet tall and just as wide.  And it looked heavy.  And it looked awkward.  And it looked like a burden.  And I looked around at the rest of us, backed up in traffic for miles, most of us driving around alone, late for work because the traffic was exceptionally awful today and I thought...what strange burdens we place upon ourselves.  Lives would be easier if we didn't carry all this crap around with us, these false constructions and illusions of the things that matter in life.

On the less philosophical side--I just got introduced to a new anime and checked out the manga for Vampire Knight.  Pretty, pretty boys. Not so fond of the big eye look, but the art nouveau through Erte look is definitely a winner.  And...freaky bizarre (I blame darkelf105  , she's a bad influence on me...).  And, did I mention?  Neck biting.  Blood.  No f'g sparkles--although pretty enough to have some.  Big vampire fu'ing gun, fangirls, a freaky shawl wearing headmaster...and wtf...private boarding school with normal day kids and classes full of vampires at night?  Loffing...and loving it at the same time.

Trying to convince my too cool for school 11 year old to be a blue tooth (as in molar painted blue) for halloween so his sister can dress as a blackberry (the fruit).  If E and I win, I will post the pics.  I swear I had kids so I could keep playing dress up.
