Driving around the other day I saw a bumper sticker that said: "you can't be both Catholic and pro-abortion." And I started to swear. What kind of statement is that? Who the hell is PRO abortion anyway? I haven't met anyone, and if I did, I think I'd do my best to never run into them again. The legal rights issue is not a simple black and white: well, you're either for babies or for murderin' babies.
Now, I will admit to personally thinking abortion, like capital punishment, like war is ultimately taking life. So, like capital punishment and war, is not something I seek out. However, my firm beliefs in civil liberties demand that I allow other women, who may have very different beliefs and circumstances than me to make choices for themselves about their own bodies. And I could give you a line of reasoning about that, but what I have to say has already been said.
Thanks to
etcet for putting up
this link and...well, I don't need to say anything more about it, because that almost all came right out of my head. Thank you
bluesgirly for this wonderful bit of truth in satire.
