Brass Captain? Consolation prize or THE BEST PLAN EVER!!! I don't know what I would have done had she actually made me a drum major and Rob does a perfectly fine job at section leader, even though she did name me assistant section leader, but whatever. Brass Captain. This is right up my alley. So far I haven't a clue what my job actually is but that doesn't matter I'll make it my own. Last time we had a Brass Captain it didn't seem like it really meant anything, but I'll be damned if I let that happen do me. All of the brass section leaders and assistant leaders are good and smart people, so I doubt they'd have any objection to with me helping them help the band pull off something more than a mediocre half-time show and disappointing exhibition performances. And at the very least I'd love to pull the entire brass section together for a warm-up a couple times during the season. I'll either have to have some educational or school spirit reasoning behind it but I've already got that planned out.
