The interview was fine. It was for a local Japanese restaurant where - get this - as a waitress, I'd have to wear a kimono. :D It'd be nice since I already know someone there, and heck. I'd learn all about sushi and, apparently, handling difficult customers. Only problem is - I have a heavy courseload in the fall AND a new job at the newspaper. Shifts at the restaurant are from early afternoon to 10 p.m. I need the money. (I feel like that girl from The Nanny Diaries - "Mom, this is the only thing I can do with my clothes on that'll pay this much!")
I learned just now that we have milkweed in the backyard, because I caught this beautiful guy hanging out on one:

Born and raised a country kid, and I've never seen that in my life.
Also, did you know substantial-sized frogs can leap/skip over the water like a tossed rock? It's insane. I must really have frightened them. They thwack out their front and hind legs at once, and so doing, can skip across the surface of water. It's amazing and, actually, very funny.
I needed that.
It's very rewarding to go exploring out back. Last time I went I met my dragonfly friend; this time, a monarch caterpillar and talented skipping frogs. What next?
