1. Star Trek: The next generation
I got into this cause I'd seen the movies since I was a kid. My Mum and Dad watched it - they got me to - the next day I ws reciting the ep to my school friends. Bizarrely enought the first episode I saw was The Child -which is DREADFUL! so I have no idea why I got hooked.
2. Red Dwarf
Got into this through a Star Trek friend. She showed me a video - and then I had to buy them. Shame about the last season.
3. Doctor Who
I was brought up watching this. I first learned about suspension of disbelief hiding from the dead insect in Ark In Space. I would have been 3 or 4.
Loved it but never considered myself a true fan until it came back and I realised how much I missed it. He may be a hell of a lot hotter but he's still The Doctor.
I avoided online fandom like the plague cause I didn't want it spoiled, now I'm using it as a crutch to get through to TORCHWOOD and the X-mas special.

I thought this show was lame I watched it cause my Mum liked it. Then Angel went evil. Years later . . .

6. Voltron (the lion one) -
Not so much a fan, but I still like it. Thought I'd include it cause I used to play it at school (I was 8 ok we still played) It was also the first time I shipped. Not that I new what it was at the time. I shipped Alura/Keith and I also shipped Alura/Lotor. See - even at that age I had an unconventional ship. Seriously - I was doomed from a young age.
