Wow...it's weird to have a shaved head. You never really know how much you play with your hair until you notice it's gone! The event was fantastic and not only do I have many little braids to pass on to my friend who is making a wig to donate for kids, our team obliterated its goal of $50,000!!! I'm so proud of everyone and so excited that we did it.
We picked up Alex that night and he gave me confused, sleepy eyes, but I still got a giggle out of him in the car when I let him rub my head. Even today, he didn't freak like I thought he would. He seemed to put two and two together and kept saying, "Mommy cut hair! Mommy, hair all gone!" So I'd say he was right and then rub my head and say, "Fuzzy!" and he'd come rub my head and laugh. Apparently I'm a silly Mommy. What a great little boy.
So now I have a small collection of earrings, a lovely hat that I finished and intend to get pics of (I'll never knit around a hard brim again!!!), and some makeup that I'll be picking up at MAC now that I can point out exactly where I am in the system so I can get my discount (thank you, Eric!). I'm really looking forward to bringing my new goodies in and learning how to do my makeup well: our makeup artist did my makeup for the event, and as she has the same basic eye-shape, skin tone, and hooded eyes like I do, she was able to explain things to do and not do.
So pics! For those who want to sit through it, we have a video of my head shaving here:
