I'm sorry, Rowling, but Dumbledore is not gay.
I mean, he might be gay. I don't know. I don't care. You could've finished the series with the post script "oh, by the way, Dumbledore's gay." and that would've be fine. Bad writing, but otherwise fine. But you didn't. You gave up your chance to define his sexuality when you finished the last book. You can say what you like about him now but I won't accept any of it as canon. You probably think you're standing up for gay rights somehow, but all it looks like is a sad attempt to bring Harry Potter back into the headlines. It's over. Move on. If you want to make Dumbledore gay, have the script for the last film re-written by a slash fan. Anything less than that and you're just attention seeking.
Guys, it has come to my attention that I've been starting a lot of paragraphs recently with "Guys,...". For example, check out the next paragraph where I tell you about my latest download.
Guys, you all totally need to check out this band One True Thing. Not One True Voice. They were the boyband that sucked when compared to, well, just about anyone. But Girls Aloud in particular. No, One True Thing are a emo/alt-rock band from Long Island, where just about all good music comes from. Their singer, Melanie Wills, is the inspiration for the list at the end of this post. Some of you might recognise her as the woman who did the singing on From Autumn To Ashes' Short Stories With Tragic Endings and Autumn Monologue.
So guys, what I'm doing here is combining "So,..." and "Guys,..." to create the ultimate in lazy paragraph starters. So guys, I've been watching Aaron Sorkin's newest TV series, Studio 60 On Sunset Strip. I like it. Possibly lots. Aaron Sorkin was the guy behind The West Wing, perhaps on of the best TV series of all time. And this new one stars one of the West Wing leads, Bradley Whitford alongside the best of the six Friends actors, Matthew Perry. It's smart, it's fast and it still deals with big issues, even if it can't in the same way The West Wing did. I tried looking on Wikipedia to see if it had gotten a second series, but it involved reading and I wasn't up for that at the time, so I'm just going to sit here and hope.
