So Monty and Becky came up and stayed over Wednesday night. We went to Pizza Express. Now Monty and Becky are some pretty rad people, but I am going to talk instead about how nice Pizza Express was: Guys, it was real nice! The staff were friendly and when they had to move us to a different table they gave us free desert and the food was all totes lovely.
I'm watching
Spellbinder at the moment. I don't think any TV show would get made today where the main characters are cheeky chaps making gunpowder in the school science lab. I think these days gunpowder is seen as a bad thing. This is a TV show from my childhood and thus is good in a GO TEAM NOSTALGIA kind of way, rather than in an actual kind of way. Once this is out the way I plan on tracking down other such excellent live action kids TV, such as The Girl From Tomorrow.
Is it just memory playing tricks on me or was our generations' kids TV far better than the current selection?
Anyway, remember mix tapes? It seems I'm not the only person that takes like a year to make one. I got Snoo's mix the other day and am listening to it now.
No, wait. Let me explain. If you asked me what I was doing right now I'd say I was watching Spellbinder, talking in IRC (hey guys remember IRC?) listening to the mix, writing this journal and playing a fun little flash game called
Continuity. I am not very clever so I cannot do more than two of these at any given time. I am switching between them all super fast because I have no attention span.
So I am listening to Snoo's mix at the moment. It's got a Múm track on it and I've been meaning to check them out for a while because it seemed like they'd be a Sigur Rós kind of thing and I like Sigur Rós (I have yet to find anyone who doesn't like Sigur Rós). Turns out I was right and I am enjoying this. The whole thing has a laid back chilled out feel to it and is based on the theme "Autumn Leaves". I can't remember if I requested this or if Snoo's been reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower but either way that book is damn good and makes for a nice mix.
Guys I was a projectionist today! If you were watching Kick-Ass today and a quarter of the image was missing when the adverts started and then the whole picture got dragged down to fill the screen that was me! Or if you are a die hard Twihard and were watching Robert Pattinson vehicle Remember Me and the film started three minutes late that was because I made this massive and there was 35mm everywhere and I had to sort it real quick and that's only one minute outside the allowed time parameters and I didn't have to call for help or anything so get me I am so psyched to have fixed my mistakes on my own. Learning is fun!
Hair will be dyed black again soon. Then, once tha has faded it will be cut, ready for the burning heat of summer.
Can you tell that I am a little tired and I more typing what I'm thinking about rather than thinking about what I'm typing? Guys, this is how my brain works, except I say the word Guys less when I'm talking to myself.
