I know I'm going to be horribly depressed later on by it, but...GRRM I don't even with Tyrion
So, I'm about 1/4 of the way through A Clash of Kings, after a long quest trying to track the damn book down. (It seems like it should have been easier to find in trade paperback form. I WAS WRONG.) So, I'm reading it in the middle of Starbucks in Newport, sipping a cappuccino as you will, and I'm trying to keep from losing my shit because 1) A Song of Ice and Fire = SRS BZNS and balls-busting depression most of the time, and losing it now would just look WEIRD, and 2) I was in public.
The cause?
Cersei and Tyrion's joyful reunion.
"I'm sure I don't know. That fool Eddard Stark accused me of the same thing. He hinted that Lord Arryn suspected or...well, believed..."
"That you were fucking our sweet Jaime?"
She slapped him.
"Did you think I was as blind as Father?" Tyrion rubbed his cheek. "Who you lie with is no matter to me...although it doesn't seem quite just that you should open your legs for one brother and not the other."
She slapped him.
"Be gentle, Cersei, I'm only jesting with you. If truth be told, I'd sooner have a nice whore. I never understood what Jaime saw in you, apart from his own reflection."
She slapped him.
'For those of you playing along, that was a grown woman bitchslapping the shit out of her midget brother for making twincest jokes about her because she actually is sleeping with her other twin brother. (Or was. Jaime's been captured by...I think the Starks? I just didn't even after Ned was like, "You fucked Jaime, didn't you?" and then a pair of shades dropped on Cersei's face and she replied, "Deal with it." And after that everything went to shit and Daenerys ended the whole thing with possibly the original (and certainly most epic)
FYIAD ever.)
I may have made a "Real Housewives of Westeros" joke on Facebook. You may want to watch that show. (The table-flipping would be epic. Never mind the throne-flipping.)
I do love Tyrion though. He pretty much lives for TEH LULZ before TEH LULZ gets quantified..
