what

Well, a trailer for Ragnarok: The Animation was rather unexpected. I think I'm going to avoid that (I've heard stories - none of them good).

Yes, I'm on Tsubasa again. I may have mentioned that Tsubasa is probably one of the prettiest things that's come out of Japan in the past five years.

...what, it is. I mean, Kurogane barely responds to his actual name anymore.

...then again, Fai invents so many pet names for him I keep forgetting his actual name. lulz.

Also, I have decided that - cracktastic as it may be - Fai/Mokona/Kurogane is just way too wrong to even be thought. I have put that out of my mind.

So far, on episode 15 - in Jade. Honestly, aside from the pretty, the main side thing that makes Tsubasa enjoyable is Kurogane's Japanese VA the costume play.

Doubly so, it's rather amusing that no matter what setting they're in, they always wear clothes that are the same colors. (Guess what color Kurogane favors. Here's a hint: In the manga, Fai calls him "Mr. Black" when they first meet - in the anime, I think he refers to him as "the sullen fellow in black." Fai's in various shades of blue, Syaoran's in green, and Sakura is in pink.)

Anyway, aside from the side facts:

Like I said a bit up, a lot of it is the stunning visuals. Yes, it's a bishounen ghetto. But the art itself - even the characters - are so rich, it's forgivable. The scoring is also awesome.

More than that, though: I'm a softie, I'll admit. I'm the kind of guy who cries at the ending of Nausicaa. Every single time. Even still, the scenes of Sakura's recovered memories with Syaoran missing are - I almost cried. YES I KNOW I HAD TO KEEP IT TOGETHER FOR A KID'S CARTOON I AM A SAD SHELL OF A MAN.

Don't mind me, just rattling off a few thoughts.

Also, just got paid. Woo yeah. On the downside, MEETING OF DOOM TOMORROW. Oh yeah, and work, where I've been multitasking by doing training and my own work. I swear to God, I'm standing up more often than I'm sitting.

[edit]

Episode 16: when I realized that there was no possible way for Fai to be straight whatsoever (even if it was filler).
Episode 17: when I realized there that there was no possible way for Kurogane to be straight whatsoever. (I'm sorry. A cute girl in a maid outfit throws herself all over you and you're all like, "Back the fuck off, bitch?")
Episode 18: when I realized that there was no poyou should never leave the very gay wizard in charge of filling out forms in a country where he can't write the language. Reader, I lulzed.

(Double lulz: the name Fai gives himself. When paired with Sakura's and contrasted with Syaoran's and Kuro-rin's. Also the fact that he makes pastries. If I haven't mentioned this, Fai is my favorite queen in the history of ever.)

Also, I have now decided that the Jade outfits they wear (which are Enlightenment-period outfits, so 18th-early 19th century) are something I need like yesterday. Totally my favorite costume change in the entire series. Actually, that arc was pretty cool. I'm getting towards the end (Outa), though, so unfortunately no more cool outfits.
