Speaking of HiME sex, you know, I'm thinking of something. It's been sixteen episodes with MANY Orphan/Child battles in the Searrs arc, and all of the other HiME have a Child*. Even if they haven't pulled them out in battle (like Sister Yukariko), we've seen them. We've never seen Mikoto's, though.
But if a HiME loses their Child (ex., Akane), they also lose their mark, and with that their power. (And their minds.) So that's not the explanation. So...uh...I have a feeling I'm going to learn some new shit.
Unless the Child is actually her sword - IIRC, she calls to it as Mamoru in the early part of the series. (And it comes. Yes.)

*Personally, I love Yukino's. Not only because Yukino/Haruka is impending canon (or would be if Haruka wouldn't get her panties in a knot about degrading the morals of Fuka Academy), but because hers can actually send text messages. Yeah, Mai's is a fucking phoenix that blows shit up and then got giga-powered at the end of the Searrs arc, but seriously, if I were - you know - a legendary warrior princess from heavily bastardized Norse mythology, I'd at least want wireless (and unlimited texting) included in the deal. Sue me.
